An excellent opportunity has become available to be a strategic part of our clients management team in Brisbane. Our Client is looking for a career driven Development Manager to join there Innovative and Dynamic Software Development Management team. Our client is a leading Australian and Global Software Vendor and Solutions provider.
- BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience working in the software industry with the most recent 3+ year in a development lead/manager role and delivering of software releases on-time and to budget.
- Strong technical background with extensive software design and development experience in ASP.NET/C# and with Microsoft tools and technologies.
- Experience with the full SDLC and implementation of at least 2-3 large enterprise products.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must.
- Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
- Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team member.
- Directly supervises Team Leads, including the preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations and career development activities.
- Manages department and overall expectations pertaining to setting accurate schedules, costs and resources.
- Define, implement, manage development methodologies
Proven track record in attracting the best engineers and mentoring senior talents - Develop and manage metrics for performance improvement of all teams.
Implements ongoing improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams. - Manages the planning and execution of development efforts, including all associated resources to meet committed delivery dates.
- Provides effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
- Works with Project Managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for development related projects and other activities such as software deployment and customer integration.
- Assures the viability, functionality and effectiveness of essential tools.
Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.
